Process Paper
For our topic we chose the California Gold Rush because we were fascinated that the Gold Rush helped California become a state. To help us choose a topic we were given a piece of paper with topics that relate to the theme, a Turning Point in History. We were looking for topics and we saw the California Gold Rush on the list. We did some more research and we found a large amount of facts on Gold Rush, so we decided to choose the Gold Rush.
We researched out topic with a computer, and we looked for online websites that we could use. We search for articles, videos, and other media devices.
We chose to make a website for many reasons. To begin with, we know how to use the website program and how to import pictures, documents, and videos on the site. Next, a documentary did not seem right for us because we do not like speaking for long periods of time. That is why we chose a website for my project instead of a documentary. Last, our teacher required that we create a website.
The California Gold Rush relates to the theme a turning point in history in many ways. To start with, the discovery of gold caused one of the greatest western migrations of all time. Secondly, the increase in population also caused California to have a high diversity in population. Finally, the increase in population helped California become a state. In conclusion, we chose to do the California Gold Rush because this topic fits into the theme, a Turning Point in History, flawlessly.
